I am trying to book a simple flight to New Orleans from Montreal using Aeroplan points. Aeroplan, with less flight options requires a $215 fee, while the Mileage Plus fee would be about $84. I know that I have previously booked a flight on United Airlines using Areoplan points about 5 years ago. Does that option still exist? If yes, how can I do so?
When I’ve flown United, I’ve looked for Saver Award availability on the United site then searched Aeroplan for those exact flights. My experience is limited to air travel via the US consisting of several segments when I’ve been prepared to pay the $30 booking fee to avoid or minimize carrier surcharges. I notice that Market Fare Flight Rewards has several possibilities depending on your dates. From a cursory search I found a round trip for 22,400 miles for $85.54 and several one-way searches (outbound, Montreal to New Orleans) for 11,200 miles and $73.72 in taxes and fees.
