I think 20 year old plus people miss out on a lot of adventures we had.
I travelled on the “Ellenis” in 1970 in a 6 berth cabin from Fremantle to Southampton and was based in London. I went on Autotours and Contiki trips to Europe. I think nowadays they stay in hotels, we stayed in tents and it was great fun. When I was in London I worked in hospitals as a relieving Medical Secretary and met lots of very nice English people. One of the ladies I worked with loaned me all her ski gear when I went on an Autotours ski trip to Austria. One of the hospitals I worked in on the noticeboard gave away free tickets to all the shows on in London, This included going to the ballet, seeing the Mousetrap, seeing many, many musical events at the Royal Albert Hall – it was marvellous. These are experiences I will always remember
